"The Forum is on a Time Out"

I'm stunned by the notice I've just read when I went to log in to the WClub just now.
ALL members are being punished by having the forum shuttered because a handful of people don't follow the behavioral guidelines.

Why weren't those in question suspended instead of everyone losing privileges?
They say that this is the only way everyone can know where they stand on the issue.

This could have been done another way.

Hey, I found this really awesome Etsy listing at https://www.etsy.com/listing/161647048/time-out-stool

For sure I won't get the opportunity to buy the twins gift set now because I opened my mouth about this .

  1. It is good to see they are trying to pacify the communication on the forum, but this is not the way to do it. There are clear rules what is allowed and what is not, and they should sanction members which violated the rules, not over 3k members!!! Also, where are we going to see the list of winners for L&E giftset lottery? Not cool at all.

    1. They always send out email for the lottery winners.
I believe that the perps are the ones who should be (temporarily) blocked from posting and/or reading the forum.

  2. I was as stunned as you were, Terri, this is punishing the entire class for a few thugs. It's what cowards do, but having said that, perhaps things got utterly out of hand and they cd see no other way. Also I imagine the moderators must have been stressing out and this was the only way they saw to give themselves a breathing space.

I think the way to do it wd have been to suspend the membership of those directly concerned, cite them by name and then explain that the forum was going down for a few days so everyone cd have a period of reflection/breathing space.

    1. Yes, that would have been a more fair way to deal with the issue.

  3. I thought it was a very silly way to deal with the situation. And then they just banned one person, and not the ones trolling her and causing problems? Doesn't make any sense to me.

I did not doubt the wclub would come back though. Carol's bio on CNBC (did you know she was a contributing writer? A friend just pointed this out to me) describes her company as the "monetization and other efforts in the customer loyalty/enthusiast space, creating 7-figure brand loyalty programs." That's wclub right? They don't have the wclub as a privilege- it's a way to make $$. As an aside, some of her political articles were pretty surprising.

    1. The W Club is a business. Period. Fighting and bullying inteferes with that purpose - maybe. They are there to make money. End of story.

  4. The same 3-4 trouble makers have been carrying on for a long time now. With 2 of the 4 being banned. Only to be reinstated and start right back up again with their tomfoolery. These instigators have been warned repeatedly but it always fell on deaf years and they continued picking fights and disparaging any other collectors who disagreed with their viewpoints.

This clique/gang mentality has been seen by all. And everyone has grown quite tired of these negative comments and character assassinations.

    The Club has spoken.

Now can we please get back to sharing our Love for these dolls instead of gossiping about each other and creating a hostile environment?

    Thanx with an "X".

    1. It's a sad thing when people don't know how to disagree without being disagreeable. Even sadder when someone gets attacked for expressing a respectful opinion.
      Thanks for sharing.

I do not publish readers' links or email addresses. If you wish to contact me or wish me to see something, find me on Facebook and send a FB message. In addition, Blogger is not letting me comment on comments! I'm trying to reconfigure this but I'm at a loss how to do so.
